Other useful functions

Timer: Use this function to set when your air conditioner turns on or off after a certain amount of time.

Light on/off: This allows you to turn the bright information display on the air conditioner on and off. This way you will not be bothered by the light during the night.

Having trouble?

It's not heating or cooling:
Our airconditioning units are able to heat and to cool the tents. If you are feeling hot air instead of cold air, or vice versa, make sure the correct mode is selected on your remote – heat, cool etc.

The bright light on the wall unit interfere with my sleep:
You can switch the wall unit lights off via the led button on the remote. Please ensure you point the remote well at the unit.

The aircon does not respond to the remote:
Make sure you aim the remote at the air conditioner and make sure the unit responds to the button you have pushed. Sometimes the remote will beep, without the unit responding. This is because you are not close enough to the unit or not directing the remote correctly. The canvas Room divider between the bedroom might interfere with the receiver. If the remote fails to switch the unit on, the battery may be flat. In this case, please contact your host to replace the batteries.

Not cool enough?
The aircons are installed to ensure comfortable sleeping temperatures during the night. Please note that in the day heat of summer the air conditioner will not work as efficiently. South Africa can reach high temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius during summers days and the aircons will not be able to cool an un-insulated tent during those days. It's recommended to close the tent windows and front flaps to ensure effective cooling/heating of the tent space.

Report problems:
If your unit simply does not work, there might be another problem. Please contact your host to rectify the problem as soon as possible.
